Volunteer Opportunities in Fair Lawn

Volunteering can be very rewarding.  You will be able to work with public professionals who are committed to quality and excellence in the delivery of all Borough services.  Volunteering allows the Borough to utilize its citizens in a unique and challenging way. Please find below a list of departments that may need volunteers:

Fair Lawn Boards, Committees & Commissions:  Call the Municipal Clerk's Office at 201-794-5340.
Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention, Arts Council, Broadway Special Improvement District, Cadmus House Museum, Environmental Commission, Garden Committee, Green Team Advisory Committee, Historic Preservation Commission, Open Space Committee, Planning Board, Property Maintenance, Rent Leveling Board, River Road Improvement Corporation, Shade Tree Advisory Committee, Zoning Board, Economic Development Corporation.

Generally these groups are staffed by dedicated volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for a Board, Committee or Commission, please contact the Municipal Clerk's office for appointment procedures. Any person interested in service on a municipal board, committee or commission shall file a one-page Citizenship Leadership Form with the Municipal Clerk expressing interest in public service.

Clerical/Receptionist: General clerical and answering phones.

Veterans Affairs: Call 201-794-5314 for more information
Veteran Assistance: (13+) Assisting Veterans with minor chores such as lawn mowing, snow removal or removing an air conditioner. Some heavy lifting or physical labor is to be expected.
Transportation for Veterans: (Valid NJDL required, 18+) Volunteers who are able to drive to VA doctors’ appointments or necessary Veteran related offices at no charge to the Veteran.

Fair Lawn TV
: Fair Lawn Television Productions, Inc. is always looking for dedicated volunteers to assist us in the production of television programs, live broadcasts and our community bulletin board. Volunteers do not need any previous television experience and will be trained by FLTV Productions. Experience with a home video camera is helpful to new volunteers.
